On That Note is a North London–based a cappella group known for performing highbrow, lowbrow and eyebrow-raisingly good music that appeals to audiences of all ages. Guided in rehearsal by musical director Jacob Ewens, the ensemble performs without a conductor, relying on collective precision, timing and breath to sing as one.

With jazz at the heart of their sound, On That Note presents an eclectic and engaging repertoire spanning jazz, pop, folk, and gospel, designed to appeal to a broad range of musical tastes. Concert programmes feature a vibrant mix of styles, including original arrangements by members of the ensemble and works inspired by acclaimed groups ranging from The King’s Singers to Pentatonix. Their infectious joie de vivre and flair for humour on stage have earned them a loyal following.

Members of the group have trained at institutions including the Guildhall School of Music & Drama, the University of Cambridge, the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, and the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts, with several also active as solo artists across London’s music scene.

Since forming in 2015, On That Note has performed at venues including the Tower of London, The Ivy (Covent Garden), Ledbury Market Theatre (as part of the Ledbury Fringe Festival) as well as making their St Luke’s debut two years ago. Recent highlights include a featured appearance in the Brandenburg Choral Festival Vocal Jazz Series and award wins at the East London and Stratford Festival. In 2025, the group celebrated its 10th anniversary with a sell-out concert at the Voces8 Centre, London, marking a major milestone in their journey and underscoring their growing reputation within the UK a cappella scene.
