Friday 31st July: Obsidian Baroque

Obsidian Baroque will present a programme of 17th and 18th century music on period instruments, including repertoire by Telemann, Handel, Gottfried Finger and Isabella Leonarda – for oboe, recorder, violin and continuo. Formed in summer 2024, they were among five ensembles selected for the 2025–26 BBC/RCM/National Centre of Early Music’s New Generation Baroque Artists development days, and are supported by the Continuo Foundation. Graduates of the Royal Academy of Music, Royal College of Music and Guildhall School of Music and Drama, they perform regularly at venues across the UK with a particular passion for Baroque dance music and female Baroque composers. Individually, the musicians perform with ensembles including the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, Florilegium, the Academy of Ancient Music and Gabrieli.
