Julian Broughton’s second string quartet was inspired by the idea of Angels, and explores our relationship to them, here on earth. He also draws inspiration from fellow English composer Edward Elgar. The quartet will be performing these two works with their own arrangements of beloved Scottish folk songs, like ‘My love is like a red, red rose’ by Burns.
