Friday 31st March: Oliver Nelson (violin) and Vasilis Razitkis (piano)

The concert begins with the classically-derived sonatina in A minor by Schubert, followed by the colourful impressionism of Three Places in Costa Rica, a premiere by Barry Mills written for Oliver and Vasilis. The first half finishes with the varied and mercurial work, Five Pieces by Malcolm Arnold. The second half features Mozart’s reflective and sombre sonata in E minor, written around the time of death of the composer’s mother, Anna Maria, and concludes with Faure’s effusive masterwork completed in 1876, the sonata in A.
