Toby and Ryan will be exploring three significant French works for cello and piano. In particular, they’ll be focusing on the lineage of three composers in this programme being: Saint-Saens, Fauré and Nadia Boulanger (Saint-Saens taught Fauré, who in turn taught Nadia Boulanger). In addition, there will be the much loved cello sonata by Frank Bridge, whose writing was highly influenced by Fauré.
